The Jacques Selosse Lieux-Dits Collection is an extraordinary masterclass in Champagne terroir, conceived by Anselme Selosse to showcase the distinct personalities of six specific single-vineyard plots across the Montagne de Reims, Vallee de la Marne, and Cote des Blancs. This highly coveted collection includes three Blanc de Blancs (Les Carelles in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Les Chantereines in Avize, and Chemin de Chalons in Cramant) and three Blanc de Noirs (La Cote Faron in Ay, Le Bout du Clos in Ambonnay, and Sous le Mont in Mareuil-sur-Ay). Utilizing a solera-like system of fractional blending for many of these cuvees, Selosse captures the eternal essence of each site rather than a single year's climate. The wines are fermented in oak casks with indigenous yeasts and minimal dosage, resulting in an incredibly complex, oxidative, and vinous style that challenges the traditional boundaries of Champagne.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Founded in 1949 in the Grand Cru village of Avize, Champagne Jacques Selosse rose to legendary status under the visionary leadership of Anselme Selosse, who took over the estate in 1974. Applying Burgundian winemaking philosophies to the Côte des Blancs, Anselme pioneered low yields, organic viticulture, and fermentation in oak casks, fundamentally transforming modern Champagne production. The estate is celebrated for its highly individualistic, terroir-driven cuvées, including the solera-aged Substance and the acclaimed Lieux-dits series, which showcase an unparalleled depth, oxidative complexity, and vinous character.
