While Domaine Ramonet is globally synonymous with legendary white Burgundy, their red wines represent a vital link to Chassagne-Montrachet's historical past. Before Chardonnay dominated the appellation, Chassagne was celebrated primarily for its robust, earthy Pinot Noir. The 'Les Durots' lieu-dit, situated on the lower slopes where clay-rich soils dominate, provides the perfect terroir for red winemaking. Here, the clay imparts a rustic structure and deep color to the Pinot Noir. Jean-Claude Ramonet approaches these reds with the same meticulous care as his Grand Crus, utilizing traditional fermentation and aging in French oak barrels. Pierre Ramonet grundlagde dette ikoniske Côte de Beaune-domaine i Chassagne-Montrachet i slutningen af 1920'erne, og i dag hører det til blandt de mest berømte og historiske producenter i hele Bourgogne.
