While Jim Beam is globally synonymous with Kentucky Bourbon, their Straight Rye represents a nod to America's original whiskey heritage. Dating back to the late 18th century when Pennsylvania and Maryland distillers favored rye, this style was the dominant American spirit before Prohibition. Jim Beam's iteration is a classic Kentucky-style rye, distilled from a mash bill containing at least 51% rye alongside corn and malted barley, then aged in newly charred American white oak barrels. This mash bill strikes a harmonious balance, tempering the assertive, peppery spice of rye with the sweet, mellow corn notes characteristic of the Bluegrass State's limestone-filtered water and unique climate.
