Red Mountain is famous for its southwest-facing slopes, intense desert heat, and sweeping afternoon winds, which combine to produce small, thick-skinned berries with exceptional concentration. Pioneered by legendary grower Dick Shaw, this vineyard's sandy loam and gravelly soils force the vines to dig deep, imparting a distinct mineral complexity and robust, structural tannins.
