Laforet Chardonnay is a vibrant homage to the classic Burgundy terroir, first introduced by Robert Drouhin in the 1970s to capture the pure, accessible essence of the region's white wines. Named after the verdant forests that border many Burgundy vineyards, this cuvee is sourced from carefully selected parcels across the region, blending the crisp freshness of northern Burgundy with the roundness of the south. Vinified primarily in stainless steel to preserve its bright citrus, white flower, and green apple aromas, a small portion of the blend is aged in neutral French oak barrels to impart a subtle complexity and a smooth, elegant texture. It stands as a timeless introduction to the house's style, embodying the Drouhin family's commitment to purity, elegance, and balance.

Maison Joseph Drouhin blev grundlagt i Beaune i 1880 af Joseph Drouhin og regnes i dag blandt Bourgognes mest prominente familieejede vinhuse. Huset ledes i dag af fjerde generation – Frédéric, Philippe, Laurent og chefvinmager Véronique Boss-Drouhin – og råder over mellem 90 og 100 hektar økologisk og biodynamisk dyrkede vinmarker fordelt over Chablis, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise samt Willamette Valley i Oregon. Drouhins vinøse signatur udspringer af kalk- og lerholdige terroirs, gæring med den naturlige gær, en nænsom ekstraktion og en velafbalanceret modning på franske egetræsfade. Blandt husets mest ikoniske vine finder man den historiske Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Mouches i både rød og hvid udgave, prestigefyldte Grand Cru'er som Musigny og Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche samt Chablis Premier og Grand Crus under navnet Domaine Drouhin-Vaudon. Med sit konsekvente fokus på finesse, aromatisk præcision og en ren, krystalklar balance frem for rå kraft står Joseph Drouhin som et klassisk og urokkeligt pejlemærke for stor bourgognevin.
