Laforet Chardonnay is a vibrant homage to the classic Burgundy terroir, first introduced by Robert Drouhin in the 1970s to capture the pure, accessible essence of the region's white wines. Named after the verdant forests that border many Burgundy vineyards, this cuvee is sourced from carefully selected parcels across the region, blending the crisp freshness of northern Burgundy with the roundness of the south. Vinified primarily in stainless steel to preserve its bright citrus, white flower, and green apple aromas, a small portion of the blend is aged in neutral French oak barrels to impart a subtle complexity and a smooth, elegant texture. Established in Beaune in 1880 by Joseph Drouhin, Maison Joseph Drouhin stands as one of Burgundy's preeminent family-owned wine houses. Guided today by the fourth generation—Frédéric, Philippe, Laurent, and head winemaker Véronique Boss-Drouhin—the domaine encompasses approximately 90 to 100 hectares of organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards spanning Chablis, the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise, and the Willamette Valley in Oregon.
