Joseph Drouhin's Premier Cru red wines represent the beating heart of this historic Beaune-based maison, which has championed the terroir of Burgundy since 1880. Deep within their ancient cellars, once belonging to the Dukes of Burgundy and the Kings of France, these wines are nurtured with a philosophy of minimal intervention. Crafted from premier cru vineyards—most notably around the commune of Beaune where the family holds extensive biodynamically farmed parcels—this Pinot Noir captures the essence of Burgundy's limestone-rich soils. The grapes are hand-harvested, fermented in open wooden vats using native yeasts, and aged in French oak barrels for 14 to 18 months. This meticulous process yields a wine of immense grace, characterized by vibrant red cherry and raspberry aromas, delicate earthy undertones, and a silky, harmonious structure that epitomizes the elegance of Côte de Beaune Premier Crus.

Maison Joseph Drouhin blev grundlagt i 1880 af Joseph Drouhin og er et ikonisk bourgognehus med historisk hovedsæde i hjertet af Beaune. Vinhuset har været i Drouhin-familiens eje gennem fire generationer, og i dag råder domænet over exceptionelle parceller i topappellationer på tværs af Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Chablis samt Willamette Valley i Oregon. Dyrkningen er baseret på certificeret økologisk og biodynamisk vinbrug, og filosofien i kælderen er centreret om naturlig balance, renhed og det uforfalskede udtryk for det enkelte terroir.
