✨ Technical Specifications
The Piesporter Goldtröpfchen, or 'droplets of gold,' is one of the Mosel's most legendary grand cru vineyards. Local folklore attributes its name to the shimmering morning dew that clings to the grapes like golden droplets, while historical records show viticulture here dating back to Roman times, evidenced by an ancient Roman wine press discovered at the foot of the slope. Julian Haart's Kabinett from this amphitheater-like, south-facing steep slate vineyard is a masterclass in tension and elegance. Crafted with minimal intervention and spontaneous fermentation in traditional oak Fuder, the wine captures the essence of the blue and grey devonian slate soils. It is celebrated for its feather-light body, electric acidity, and a crystalline mineral core that perfectly balances its delicate, natural sweetness.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 2010 by Julian and Nadine Haart, Weingut Julian Haart is situated in the historic village of Piesport along Germany's Middle Mosel. Having honed his craft under iconic masters such as Klaus Peter Keller and Egon Müller, Julian quickly established his boutique estate as one of Germany's most revered modern cult producers. Cultivating prized, precipitous slate terroirs including Piesporter Goldtröpfchen, Wintricher Ohligsberg, and the legendary ungrafted vines of Schubertslay, the winery prioritizes meticulous vineyard management and low-intervention cellar practices. Julian Haart is acclaimed for producing breathtakingly crystalline, tension-filled Rieslings and refined Pinot Noirs that showcase extraordinary precision, electric acidity, and profound site-specific minerality.
