The Piesporter Schubertslay is one of the Mosel's most legendary and exclusive vineyard sites. This tiny, amphitheater-like grand cru is renowned for its sheer steepness and its prized possession of extremely old, ungrafted Riesling vines, some of which are over a century old. Julian Haart, utilizing his meticulous hands-on approach, crafts an Auslese of breathtaking purity from this historic site. The terroir, dominated by soft blue Devonian slate, imparts an intense, crystalline minerality. Fermented spontaneously in traditional oak Fuder, this Auslese captures the perfect harmony of noble botrytis, luscious stone fruit concentration, and the electric, feather-light acidity that defines the very pinnacle of Mosel winemaking history.

Established in 2010 by Julian Haart in the historic winegrowing village of Piesport, this Mosel estate has quickly risen to cult status. Having trained under legendary mentors like Klaus Peter Keller and Egon Müller, Haart applies a meticulous, hands-on approach to farming steep, slate-rich grand cru vineyards such as Piesporter Goldtröpfchen, Schubertslay, and Wintricher Ohligsberg. The estate's winemaking philosophy relies on organic viticulture, spontaneous fermentation in traditional oak Fuder, and minimal intervention to preserve the natural tension and purity of the fruit. Julian Haart is globally celebrated for producing incredibly precise, mineral-driven, and elegant Rieslings, particularly his legendary, feather-light Kabinett expressions.
