The Wintricher Ohligsberg is one of the Mosel's most historic and prestigious steep-slope vineyards, celebrated since the 19th century for producing wines of immense complexity and longevity. Facing south-southwest on weathered blue Devonian slate, this grand cru site benefits from a unique microclimate shaped by the winding Mosel River. Julian Haart's Wintricher Ohligsberg Riesling Auslese 2* represents the pinnacle of noble sweet winemaking. Crafted from meticulously hand-selected, botrytised grapes, this wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation in traditional oak Fuder. The result is a breathtakingly complex nectar where rich, honeyed concentration is perfectly counterbalanced by the electric, mineral-driven acidity characteristic of the Ohligsberg terroir.

Established in 2010 by Julian Haart in the historic winegrowing village of Piesport, this Mosel estate has quickly risen to cult status. Having trained under legendary mentors like Klaus Peter Keller and Egon Müller, Haart applies a meticulous, hands-on approach to farming steep, slate-rich grand cru vineyards such as Piesporter Goldtröpfchen, Schubertslay, and Wintricher Ohligsberg. The estate's winemaking philosophy relies on organic viticulture, spontaneous fermentation in traditional oak Fuder, and minimal intervention to preserve the natural tension and purity of the fruit. Julian Haart is globally celebrated for producing incredibly precise, mineral-driven, and elegant Rieslings, particularly his legendary, feather-light Kabinett expressions.
