The Wintricher Ohligsberg is a legendary steep site along the Mosel, historically ranked alongside the region's finest crus. Its name, referencing the historic oil mills that once stood nearby, speaks to a long lineage of agricultural heritage. Here, the vines cling to weathered blue devonian slate soils on a sheer, southwest-facing amphitheater. Julian Haart coaxes an ethereal brilliance from this terroir, crafting a Wintricher Ohligsberg Riesling Kabinett that is a masterclass in tension. It balances a feather-light body with electric acidity and a deep, saline minerality. Fermented spontaneously with native yeasts, this wine captures the cool-climate energy of the Mosel, offering a crystalline purity and a delicate, dancing sweetness that defines the classic Kabinett style.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Established in 2010 by Julian Haart in the historic winegrowing village of Piesport, this Mosel estate has quickly risen to cult status. Having trained under legendary mentors like Klaus Peter Keller and Egon Müller, Haart applies a meticulous, hands-on approach to farming steep, slate-rich grand cru vineyards such as Piesporter Goldtröpfchen, Schubertslay, and Wintricher Ohligsberg. The estate's winemaking philosophy relies on organic viticulture, spontaneous fermentation in traditional oak Fuder, and minimal intervention to preserve the natural tension and purity of the fruit. Julian Haart is globally celebrated for producing incredibly precise, mineral-driven, and elegant Rieslings, particularly his legendary, feather-light Kabinett expressions.
