Kavalan's Distillery Select showcases the distillery's signature tropical maturation style in a highly approachable format. Crafted in Yilan County, Taiwan, where the intense subtropical heat and humidity accelerate wood extraction, this single malt matures at a rapid pace compared to traditional cool-climate whiskies. Using pure, mineral-rich meltwater from the Snow Mountain range, Kavalan's master blender crafts this expression to highlight a lush profile of tropical fruits, soft toffee, and warm wood spices. It stands as a testament to Taiwan's pioneering spirit in the whisky world, capturing the vibrant energy of its unique terroir.

Kavalan Distillery blev grundlagt i 2005 af King Car Group under ledelse af grundlægger Tien-Tsai Lee og er beliggende i Yuanshan i Yilan-distriktet på Taiwan. Destilleriet er opkaldt efter det oprindelige Kavalan-folk fra Yilan-sletten og var pioner inden for taiwansk single malt whisky i verdensklasse, skabt på mineralrigt smeltevand fra den nærliggende Snow Mountain-bjergkæde. Kavalan drager fuld fordel af Taiwans intense, subtropiske klima, som fremskynder fadmodningen markant og tilfører whiskyen en usædvanlig kompleks, rig og moden smagsprofil på ganske kort tid.
