Kavalan's Ex-Bourbon Oak Single Malt Whisky is a testament to the revolutionary impact of subtropical maturation. Crafted in Yilan County, Taiwan, this expression is matured in hand-selected, first-fill American ex-bourbon casks. The distillery utilizes the pure, mineral-rich meltwater from the Snow Mountain range, which contributes to the spirit's signature clean and silky mouthfeel. Due to Taiwan's intense heat and humidity, the interaction between the spirit and the oak is highly accelerated, extracting rich vanilla, coconut, and soft spice notes far more rapidly than in traditional cool-climate distilling regions.
