Kavalan's Solist ex-Bourbon Cask is a testament to the dramatic interplay between spirit and wood under Taiwan's unique subtropical climate. Located in Yilan County, the distillery draws pristine, mineral-rich meltwater from the Snow Mountain range, providing a clean, soft foundation for fermentation. The intense heat of Taiwan accelerates the maturation process, causing the whisky to interact dynamically with the hand-selected American oak ex-bourbon casks. This rapid wood extraction coaxes out rich, luscious notes of vanilla, coconut, and tropical fruits far quicker than traditional cool-climate aging. Each bottle from the Solist series is a single cask, cask-strength release, showcasing the pure, unadulterated essence of Kavalan's innovative craftsmanship and the natural elements of its homeland.

Kavalan Distillery blev grundlagt i 2005 af King Car Group under ledelse af grundlægger Tien-Tsai Lee og er beliggende i Yuanshan i Yilan-distriktet på Taiwan. Destilleriet er opkaldt efter det oprindelige Kavalan-folk fra Yilan-sletten og var pioner inden for taiwansk single malt whisky i verdensklasse, skabt på mineralrigt smeltevand fra den nærliggende Snow Mountain-bjergkæde.
