Kavalan's Solist Fino Sherry Cask is a masterpiece of subtropical maturation, showcasing how Taiwan's intense heat and humidity can rapidly coax deep, complex flavors from wood. Matured in hand-selected Fino Sherry butts—famed for producing Spain's driest, most delicate sherries—this single malt bridges the gap between the mineral-driven elegance of Fino and the robust, tropical character of Kavalan's spirit. The pure meltwater from the nearby Snow Mountain range provides a pristine foundation, while the high evaporation rate in Yilan County accelerates the interaction between the spirit and the oak. The result is an incredibly opulent whisky, balancing dry, nutty complexity with vibrant notes of green apple, rich toffee, and subtle salinity.

Kavalan Distillery blev grundlagt i 2005 af King Car Group under ledelse af grundlægger Tien-Tsai Lee og er beliggende i Yuanshan i Yilan-distriktet på Taiwan. Destilleriet er opkaldt efter det oprindelige Kavalan-folk fra Yilan-sletten og var pioner inden for taiwansk single malt whisky i verdensklasse, skabt på mineralrigt smeltevand fra den nærliggende Snow Mountain-bjergkæde.
