Kavalan's Solist Manzanilla Sherry Cask series represents a fascinating marriage of Taiwanese subtropical maturation and traditional Spanish sherry heritage. Manzanilla, a style of Fino sherry produced specifically around the coastal town of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, is celebrated for its delicate, salty, and mineral-driven profile. When Kavalan's spirit is aged in these rare casks in the humid, intense climate of Yilan County, the interaction with the wood is dramatically accelerated. The result is a single malt of immense complexity, where the maritime, briny influence of the Manzanilla cask beautifully tempers Kavalan's signature tropical fruitiness. This specific single cask bottling showcases notes of honeydew melon, salted caramel, cocoa, and a distinct mineral finish.

Kavalan Distillery blev grundlagt i 2005 af King Car Group under ledelse af grundlægger Tien-Tsai Lee og er beliggende i Yuanshan i Yilan-distriktet på Taiwan. Destilleriet er opkaldt efter det oprindelige Kavalan-folk fra Yilan-sletten og var pioner inden for taiwansk single malt whisky i verdensklasse, skabt på mineralrigt smeltevand fra den nærliggende Snow Mountain-bjergkæde.
