Kavalan's signature Single Malt represents the pioneering spirit of Taiwan's premier distillery, located in the pristine, humid environment of Yilan County. Utilizing the exceptionally pure, mineral-rich meltwater flowing from the nearby Snow Mountain range, this expression is crafted using traditional copper pot stills. The intense subtropical climate of Taiwan accelerates the interaction between the spirit and the oak, achieving a depth and complexity in just a few years that would take decades in cooler climates. This classic expression is matured in a meticulous selection of fresh bourbon, sherry, and refill oak casks, resulting in a lively, elegant spirit characterized by tropical fruit notes—particularly mango, coconut, and pear—alongside gentle floral and spiced undertones. It stands as a testament to the visionary King Car Group, who defied skeptics to establish a world-class whisky industry in Taiwan.

Kavalan Distillery blev grundlagt i 2005 af King Car Group under ledelse af grundlægger Tien-Tsai Lee og er beliggende i Yuanshan i Yilan-distriktet på Taiwan. Destilleriet er opkaldt efter det oprindelige Kavalan-folk fra Yilan-sletten og var pioner inden for taiwansk single malt whisky i verdensklasse, skabt på mineralrigt smeltevand fra den nærliggende Snow Mountain-bjergkæde. Kavalan drager fuld fordel af Taiwans intense, subtropiske klima, som fremskynder fadmodningen markant og tilfører whiskyen en usædvanlig kompleks, rig og moden smagsprofil på ganske kort tid.
