Kendall-Jackson blev grundlagt i 1982 af Jess Jackson og har siden udviklet sig til et af californisk vinavl mest velkendte ikoner, stadig drevet som en familieejet virksomhed anført af Barbara Banke. Vingården har base i Russian River Valley med Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens i Santa Rosa og dyrker egne parceller i førsteklasses kystnære terroirs på tværs af Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, Monterey og Santa Barbara County. Disse kystpåvirkede appellationer nyder godt af svalende havgus, grusholdige alluviale aflejringer og lange, rolige vækstsæsoner.
