The Jackson Hills Chardonnay represents Kendall-Jackson's dedication to high-elevation and hillside viticulture across California's cool coastal regions, particularly within Sonoma County. Founder Jess Jackson famously championed mountain and hillside vineyards, believing that the challenging terrain, thin soils, and cooling marine breezes forced the vines to struggle, resulting in lower yields of intensely concentrated fruit. This Chardonnay is crafted to showcase that dramatic terroir, balancing the natural richness of California fruit with a vibrant, structural acidity. Traditionally barrel-fermented in French oak and subjected to regular lees stirring (bâtonnage), the wine develops a creamy, textured mouthfeel while retaining its bright, mineral-driven core. It stands as a testament to the family's pioneering spirit and their ongoing quest to map the finest cool-climate slopes of the Golden State.

Kendall-Jackson blev grundlagt i 1982 af Jess Jackson og har siden udviklet sig til et af californisk vinavl mest velkendte ikoner, stadig drevet som en familieejet virksomhed anført af Barbara Banke. Vingården har base i Russian River Valley med Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens i Santa Rosa og dyrker egne parceller i førsteklasses kystnære terroirs på tværs af Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, Monterey og Santa Barbara County. Disse kystpåvirkede appellationer nyder godt af svalende havgus, grusholdige alluviale aflejringer og lange, rolige vækstsæsoner. Vinavlen drives efter certificerede bæredygtighedsstandarder i henhold til CCSW- og SIP-retningslinjerne.
