Sourced from the sun-drenched Wahluke Slope AVA, the Stone Tree Vineyard Malbec from Kerloo Cellars is a testament to Washington State's ability to produce world-class Bordeaux varietals. The vineyard itself is named after the ancient petrified wood discovered in the area, a nod to the dramatic geological history shaped by the prehistoric Missoula Floods. Winemaker Ryan Crane employs a low-intervention approach to capture the raw energy of this site. The sandy loam soils and intense heat of the Wahluke Slope allow the Malbec grapes to achieve rich, concentrated flavors of dark fruit and cocoa, while the cool desert nights preserve a vibrant, balancing acidity. Aged carefully to respect the fruit, this wine showcases a sophisticated harmony of power and elegance.

Kerloo Cellars blev grundlagt i 2007 af vinmageren Ryan Crane i Washington States berømte Walla Walla Valley. Her fremstiller vinhuset håndværksvine med udpræget terroirpræg, som hylder de ypperste vinmarker i Pacific Northwest. Filosofien bygger på minimal intervention, afdæmpet brug af egetræ og spontangæring med naturlig gær, hvor Crane stræber efter at fremhæve den rene, levende frugtkarakter fra anerkendte parceller i Columbia Valley og Yakima Valley. Vinhuset har opnået særlig anerkendelse for sine dynamiske vine i Rhône-stil – især enkeltdarks-Syrah og frisk Grenache Rosé – suppleret af energiske fortolkninger af Tempranillo, Grenache Blanc og Sauvignon Blanc.
