Hailing from the arid, sun-drenched landscape of the Wahluke Slope AVA, the 'No Joke' Tempranillo from Kerloo Cellars is a testament to the rugged beauty of Washington State viticulture. Sourced from the highly acclaimed Stone Tree Vineyard, which sits on a dramatic, south-facing slope of ancient gravelly soils, this wine earned its moniker from the sheer determination required to cultivate Spanish varieties in the Pacific Northwest. Winemaker Ryan Crane embraced the challenge of Washington's extreme climate—where scorching summer days give way to cool desert nights and unpredictable winter freezes—to craft a Tempranillo of remarkable depth and structure. The wine is typically fermented with native yeasts and aged in neutral French oak to allow the intense, dark-fruited, and savory characteristics of the Stone Tree terroir to shine through without being masked by heavy wood influence.
