Kilikanoon's Secret Places Shiraz is an evocative tribute to the hidden corners and unique microclimates of South Australia's Clare Valley. Winemaker Kevin Mitchell established Kilikanoon with a vision to showcase the diverse terroir of the region, and Secret Places represents a curated selection of fruit from secluded vineyard parcels that escape the broader regional definitions. These secret places feature ancient soils, varying elevations, and distinct cooling breezes, which together impart a remarkable complexity to the Shiraz grape. Crafted using traditional open-top fermenters and basket pressing, followed by maturation in French oak hogsheads, this wine captures the dark fruit intensity, savory spice, and elegant structural balance that defines Clare Valley's premium Shiraz.

Kilikanoon blev grundlagt i 1997 af vinmageren Kevin Mitchell og ligger i den naturskønne Clare Valley i South Australia. Vingården henter sine druer fra historiske, lavtydende gamle vinstokke fordelt over en række forskellige mikroklimaer og jordbundstyper, og huset er dedikeret til at skabe vine med enestående kraft, præcision og regional autenticitet. Kilikanoon har opnået stor international anerkendelse for sine dybt koncentrerede, strukturerede rødvine – heriblandt især flagskibene Oracle Shiraz og Prodigal Grenache – side om side med krystalklare, gemmeværdige Clare Valley Riesling-vine.
