Kilikanoon's Greens Vineyard Shiraz represents a compelling exploration outside of their estate's Clare Valley home, sourcing exceptional fruit from the historic Barossa Valley—specifically the low-yielding, old vines of the famed Greenock sub-region. The terroir here is defined by rich, red-brown clay loam over ironstone, which coaxes out an incredibly concentrated, opulent expression of Shiraz. Crafted using traditional winemaking techniques, including open-top fermentation and basket pressing, the wine is matured in seasoned and new French oak hogsheads. This meticulous process tempers the intense dark forest fruit, plum, and licorice notes with sophisticated nuances of dark chocolate, cedar, and savory spice, resulting in a powerful yet remarkably balanced wine.
