The Mort's Reserve Watervale Riesling is a poignant tribute to Mort Mitchell, father of Kilikanoon's founder Kevin Mitchell, who meticulously planted the golden hillside vineyards of Watervale. Sourced from these prized, low-yielding vines in the Clare Valley, this wine embodies the region's unique terroir, characterized by red loam over limestone soils and a microclimate of warm days and cool, crisp nights. Crafted using traditional cool-fermentation techniques in stainless steel tanks, the wine preserves the absolute purity of the fruit. It showcases the classic Watervale signature of intense citrus, vibrant lime juice, and a distinct, chalky mineral backbone that has made Clare Valley Riesling legendary among collectors worldwide.

Kilikanoon blev grundlagt i 1997 af vinmageren Kevin Mitchell og ligger i den naturskønne Clare Valley i South Australia. Vingården henter sine druer fra historiske, lavtydende gamle vinstokke fordelt over en række forskellige mikroklimaer og jordbundstyper, og huset er dedikeret til at skabe vine med enestående kraft, præcision og regional autenticitet. Kilikanoon har opnået stor international anerkendelse for sine dybt koncentrerede, strukturerede rødvine – heriblandt især flagskibene Oracle Shiraz og Prodigal Grenache – side om side med krystalklare, gemmeværdige Clare Valley Riesling-vine.
