The Kilikanoon 'R' Shiraz represents the pinnacle of selection, sourced from low-yielding, ultra-premium vineyard parcels nestled in the rolling hills of the Clare Valley. The 'R' designation stands for Reserve, signifying a wine of exceptional character that is only produced when vintage conditions are deemed truly outstanding. The terroir of the Clare Valley, characterized by its red loam over limestone soils and dramatic diurnal temperature shifts, imparts a unique combination of intense dark fruit concentration and structural elegance. Crafted using traditional winemaking techniques, including open-top fermentation and gentle basket pressing, the wine is matured in select French oak hogsheads to seamless maturity. This meticulous process honors the region's rich viticultural history, creating a powerful yet sophisticated Shiraz that beautifully reflects its South Australian heritage.

Kilikanoon blev grundlagt i 1997 af vinmageren Kevin Mitchell og ligger i den naturskønne Clare Valley i South Australia. Vingården henter sine druer fra historiske, lavtydende gamle vinstokke fordelt over en række forskellige mikroklimaer og jordbundstyper, og huset er dedikeret til at skabe vine med enestående kraft, præcision og regional autenticitet. Kilikanoon har opnået stor international anerkendelse for sine dybt koncentrerede, strukturerede rødvine – heriblandt især flagskibene Oracle Shiraz og Prodigal Grenache – side om side med krystalklare, gemmeværdige Clare Valley Riesling-vine.
