Named in honor of Count Silverio de Baguer, the visionary 19th-century diplomat and owner of Dobrovo Castle who revolutionized local winemaking, the Bagueri Brut is a testament to the sparkling wine heritage of Goriška Brda. Crafted using the traditional method (metoda klasična), this sparkling wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle and is aged on its lees for several years in the deep, cool cellars of the estate. The grapes are sourced from steep, sun-drenched terraced vineyards where the soil, known locally as 'opoka' (marl and sandstone), imparts a distinct mineral backbone. The cooling alpine breezes from the Julian Alps clash with warm Mediterranean air from the Adriatic Sea, creating a microclimate that preserves vibrant acidity and coaxes out complex stone fruit and brioche aromas.

Established in 1957 as a cooperative uniting local winegrowing families, Klet Brda is the leading wine producer in the picturesque Goriška Brda region of western Slovenia, situated between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea. Working with hundreds of multi-generational families who tend steep, terraced vineyards planted on distinctive flysch and sandstone soils known locally as 'opoka', the winery seamlessly merges centuries of viticultural tradition with state-of-the-art cellar techniques. The estate is celebrated for its diverse portfolio spanning crisp sparkling wines, vibrant whites, and structured reds, with particular distinction in indigenous and regional varieties such as Rebula (Ribolla Gialla) and Sauvignonasse alongside international mainstays across acclaimed collections like the fresh, fruit-forward Quercus line.
