Sourced from the steep, hand-harvested terraced hills of Goriška Brda in Primorska, this Sivi Pinot (the Slovenian name for Pinot Grigio) reflects a unique microclimate where alpine breezes from the Julian Alps meet warm Mediterranean winds from the Adriatic Sea. Grown in the region's signature 'opoka' soil—a mineral-rich layered marl and sandstone—the grapes develop a distinctive saline minerality and bright acidity. The cooperative's family growers preserve this vibrant character through gentle pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation entirely in stainless steel tanks, avoiding oak contact to let the pure, expressive fruit and local terroir shine through.

Established in 1957 as a cooperative uniting local winegrowing families, Klet Brda is the leading wine producer in the picturesque Goriška Brda region of western Slovenia, situated between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea. Working with hundreds of multi-generational families who tend steep, terraced vineyards planted on distinctive flysch and sandstone soils known locally as 'opoka', the winery seamlessly merges centuries of viticultural tradition with state-of-the-art cellar techniques.
