The Kostheimer Weiss Erd (White Earth) vineyard owes its name to its unique, light-colored marl clay soils rich in limestone, which reflect the sun's warmth and impart a distinctive creamy texture and intense minerality to the wine. Situated near the confluence of the Rhine and Main rivers, this VDP.Grosse Lage site benefits from a unique microclimate. Weingut Künstler crafts this Grosses Gewächs (GG) Riesling using traditional methods, including gentle pressing, spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, and extended maturation on the lees in large, neutral oak casks (Stückfass). The resulting wine is a powerful, dry Riesling that beautifully balances opulent stone fruit flavors with a vibrant, chalky acidity and a long, salty finish. This bottling represents the pinnacle of dry Rheingau Riesling, showcasing the historical depth and terroir of one of the region's oldest wine-growing villages.

Weingut Künstler blev grundlagt i Hochheim am Main i 1965 af Franz Künstler, som dermed genoplivede en lang familietradition for vinavl med rødder i Sydmähren før Anden Verdenskrig. Vingården opnåede international anerkendelse under ledelse af sønnen Gunter Künstler, der overtog ansvaret i 1992 med et kompromisløst fokus på terroirpræget præcision. Med berømte VDP.Grosse Lage-marker som Hochheimer Hölle, Kirchenstück og Domdechaney i porteføljen arbejder vinhuset ud fra principper om bæredygtig dyrkning, minimal indgriben i kælderen og langvarig lagring på bærmen. Künstler er i dag verdenskendt for sine kraftfulde, mineralske tørre Riesling-vine, storslåede ædelsøde kreationer samt bemærkelsesværdigt elegante og komplekse Spätburgunder-vine.
