Crafted by the legendary La Rioja Alta, S.A., a historic estate founded in 1890 in Haro's famous Barrio de la Estación, Viña Alberdi is a profound tribute to Nicolas Alberdi, a pivotal past president of the winery. Unlike some of its sibling cuvées, Viña Alberdi is traditionally crafted as a 100% Tempranillo, sourced from high-altitude estate vineyards in Rodezno and Labastida. The terroir's clay-limestone soils and Atlantic-influenced climate yield grapes with vibrant acidity and bright red fruit character. True to the estate's uncompromising commitment to traditional methods, the wine undergoes aging for two years in American oak barrels handcrafted in the winery's own cooperage, and is meticulously racked by candlelight every six months to naturally clarify the wine and develop its signature notes of sweet spices, vanilla, and balsamic undertones.
