The 16 Year Old Feis Ile bottling represents a hand-selected, limited-edition expression of the distillery's iconic peated single malt. Distilled on the shores of Lagavulin Bay, this spirit undergoes an exceptionally slow distillation in pear-shaped stills, allowing maximum copper contact to develop its complex, oily character. For the Feis Ile editions, the whisky is typically matured in specially selected casks—often incorporating sherry or other fortified wine casks for a double maturation—and bottled at cask strength. This results in an intense, multi-layered profile where Lagavulin's signature coastal peat smoke, medicinal brine, and lapsang souchong tea notes are beautifully integrated with deep dried-fruit sweetness, dark chocolate, and rich oak spices.
