Founded in 1760, Champagne Lanson is one of the oldest houses in Reims, historically distinguished by its traditional decision to avoid malolactic fermentation. This signature winemaking choice preserves a vibrant, mouthwatering acidity and endows their cuvées with legendary aging potential. The Vintage Collection Brut represents the absolute pinnacle of this longevity, consisting of rare, late-disgorged library releases that have matured for decades on their lees in the house's labyrinthine chalk cellars. Typically crafted from a Pinot Noir-dominant blend balanced by Chardonnay sourced from prestigious Grand and Premier Cru vineyards, these Champagnes offer a majestic dialogue between youthful freshness and deep, tertiary complexity. Each bottle bears the Maltese Cross, a historic emblem adopted in 1837 when the founder's son, a member of the Sovereign Order of Malta, took stewardship of the house.

Established in 1760 by François Delamotte and later rebranded under the stewardship of Jean-Baptiste Lanson, Champagne Lanson ranks among the oldest and most historically significant Maisons in Reims. Operating today under the Lanson-BCC group with Chef de Cave Hervé Dantan directing vinification, the house sources Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier across approximately 400 hectares, including 60 hectares of estate vineyards managed sustainably with parcels certified organic and biodynamic. Terroirs encompass grand and premier crus spanning the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs, complemented by the notable urban walled vineyard Clos Lanson rooted in pure chalk. Lanson’s vinous signature is defined by its steadfast historic practice of blocking malolactic fermentation across its core range, preserving sharp malic tension, nerve, and structural longevity, balanced by extended lees contact and sizable reserve wine additions. Flagship releases include Le Black Création, the prestige Noble Champagne, and the single-vineyard Clos Lanson Blanc de Blancs.
