⏳ wine.drinking_window

As a distilled spirit bottled at its peak maturity, it does not age or improve in the bottle. It is ready to be enjoyed immediately upon release and will remain stable for decades if stored upright and away from direct sunlight; once opened, it is best consumed within 1 to 2 years.

Fresh raw oysters on the half shell, artisanal blue cheeses such as Stilton, and rich dark chocolate desserts.

✨ wine.spec_sheet

Laphroaig, established in 1815 by the Johnston brothers on the rugged south coast of Islay, is legendary for its uncompromisingly smoky, medicinal, and maritime single malts. The 15-Year-Old expression holds a special place in whisky lore, famously celebrated as the personal favorite Scotch of King Charles III, who bestowed his Royal Warrant upon the distillery in 1994. Unlike the intense, medicinal punch of the younger flagship bottlings, the 15-Year-Old benefits from a decade and a half of maturation in seasoned ex-bourbon American oak casks. This extended slumber in the damp, salty warehouses beside the Atlantic Ocean softens the fierce peat smoke, weaving it together with rich notes of heather honey, ripe tropical fruits, and gentle spices, creating a beautifully balanced and complex coastal dram.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Established in 1815 by brothers Donald and Alexander Johnston, Laphroaig Distillery is situated on the rugged south coast of the Isle of Islay, Scotland. Celebrated globally for its distinctively bold, peaty, and medicinal character, the distillery remains one of the few that still utilizes traditional floor maltings to dry its barley over local, hand-cut Islay peat. This artisanal heritage, paired with distillation in unique copper pot stills and maturation primarily in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, defines its legendary portfolio, which includes the iconic 10 Year Old, Quarter Cask, and highly coveted aged limited editions.
