Hailing from the rugged, wind-swept shores of Islay, Scotland, Laphroaig's 'Elements L 1.0' is a groundbreaking exploration of the distillery's historic production methods. This limited-edition single malt whisky delves into the alchemy of the mashing and fermentation processes. By utilizing two distinct types of wort—cloudy and semi-cloudy—alongside a combination of traditional and expanded fermentation times, the distillers have amplified Laphroaig's signature medicinal peat smoke while coaxing out unexpected layers of tropical fruit and sweet, spicy malt. Founded in 1815 by the Johnston brothers, Laphroaig is legendary for its uncompromisingly bold, phenolic character, deeply influenced by the salty sea air and local peat beds of the Kilbride Stream.

Laphroaig blev grundlagt i 1815 af brødrene Donald og Alexander Johnston på den rå sydkyst af Isle of Islay og regnes i dag for et af Skotlands mest ikoniske og karakterfulde single malt-destillerier. Kombinationen af koldrøgning og blødt, tørveholdigt vand fra Kilbride Reservoir giver en umiskendelig spiritus, der er rig på noter af tang, jod og markant tørverøg.
