The Demencial range by Finca Las Moras represents a daring viticultural experiment, embracing the madness of cultivating delicate Pinot Noir in the extreme, high-altitude desert of San Juan's Pedernal Valley. Situated at nearly 1,400 meters above sea level, these vineyards experience intense solar radiation paired with freezing mountain nights. This dramatic diurnal shift slows ripening, allowing the Pinot Noir grapes to develop deep aromatic complexity and retain a vibrant, electric acidity. Grown in rocky, limestone-rich soils, the wine is crafted to showcase the wild, untamed side of the valley. It undergoes a gentle fermentation and light aging in oak barrels, resulting in a wine that balances bright red fruit notes of wild strawberries and cherries with a distinct mineral backbone and earthy undertones.

Established in the 1990s in San Juan, Argentina, Finca Las Moras emerged as an essential pioneer in reshaping the region's viticultural landscape across the Tulum, Zonda, and Pedernal Valleys. Now part of the Grupo Peñaflor family, the winery takes its name from the native blackberry trees that frame its high-altitude vineyards tucked against the Andes Mountains. Finca Las Moras is celebrated for its innovative and sustainable approach to winemaking, focusing heavily on unlocking the regional potential of Syrah alongside classic Argentine staples like Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and aromatic whites such as Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc.
