While Malbec often steals the Argentine spotlight, this wine shines a brilliant light on Bonarda—a grape of Italian origin that has found a highly expressive home in Argentina. Grown in the alluvial soils of San Juan's high-altitude valleys, the grapes benefit from intense solar radiation and dramatic diurnal temperature shifts. This results in a deeply colored, aromatic red. Established in the 1990s in San Juan, Argentina, Finca Las Moras emerged as an essential pioneer in reshaping the region's viticultural landscape across the Tulum, Zonda, and Pedernal Valleys. Now part of the Grupo Peñaflor family, the winery takes its name from the native blackberry trees that frame its high-altitude vineyards tucked against the Andes Mountains. Finca Las Moras is celebrated for its innovative and sustainable approach to winemaking, focusing heavily on unlocking the regional potential of Syrah alongside classic Argentine staples like Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and aromatic whites such as Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc.
