✨ Technical Specifications
Laurent-Perrier's Grand Siecle is a revolutionary concept in prestige Champagne, conceived in 1959 by Bernard de Nonancourt. Rather than relying on a single vintage, Grand Siecle seeks to recreate the 'perfect year' by blending three complementary, exceptional vintages. Iteration N°23 is a masterful assemblage of the 2006, 2004, and 2002 vintages, composed of approximately 58% Chardonnay and 42% Pinot Noir sourced exclusively from 11 of Champagne's most prestigious Grand Cru villages. Named in honor of the 'Great Century' of Louis XIV, the Sun King, this cuvee is presented in a bottle inspired by 17th-century master glassmakers. Having aged for around 14 years on its lees, it offers an extraordinary balance of depth, freshness, and aromatic complexity, featuring notes of candied citrus, toasted brioche, honey, and chalky minerality.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1812 in Tours-sur-Marne by André Michel Pierlot and established under its enduring name by Mathilde Emilie Perrier, Champagne Laurent-Perrier is one of the world's most prestigious and family-owned Champagne houses. Under the visionary post-war leadership of Bernard de Nonancourt, the house pioneered an avant-garde winemaking philosophy centered on freshness, finesse, and Chardonnay-driven elegance, famously adopting stainless steel vats early on to preserve absolute aromatic purity. Laurent-Perrier is celebrated for shaping modern Champagne trends, boasting an iconic portfolio that includes the trailblazing zero-dosage Ultra Brut, the benchmark maceration-crafted Cuvée Rosé, and the illustrious prestige cuvée Grand Siècle, composed from multiple declared vintage years.
