Grand Siècle is Laurent-Perrier's pinnacle expression, conceived in 1959 by the visionary Bernard de Nonancourt. Rejecting the traditional notion that a single vintage can capture perfection, de Nonancourt sought to recreate the 'perfect year' by blending three exceptional, complementary vintages. Iteration N°27 is a masterclass in this philosophy, uniting the stellar years of 2015, 2012, and 2008. Composed of approximately 52% Chardonnay and 48% Pinot Noir sourced exclusively from 11 prestigious Grand Cru villages, this cuvée is aged for over eight years on its lees. The name pays homage to the 17th-century 'Grand Siècle' of Louis XIV, an era of unprecedented artistic and culinary refinement in France, and the wine is housed in a distinctive curved bottle modeled after historical 17th-century hand-blown glass. It offers a spectacular balance of tension, depth, and aromatic complexity, featuring notes of candied citrus, fresh honey, toasted brioche, and chalky minerality.
