Lindemans Pyrus is a cornerstone of the estate's legendary 'Coonawarra Trio'—alongside St George and Limestone Ridge—which helped define the premium red wine identity of South Australia. The wine takes its name from the historic ornamental pear trees (Pyrus) planted near the vineyards on the famous terra rossa strip, where rich red clay loam sits over a pure limestone base. First released in 1985, Pyrus is crafted as a refined, Bordeaux-style blend. It undergoes traditional fermentation followed by maturation in French oak hogsheads, resulting in a beautifully structured red with signature Coonawarra mint, cassis, and savory cedar notes, underpinned by fine-grained, chalky tannins.
