The wine takes its name from the unique geological formation of the Limestone Ridge vineyard, first planted in 1965, where a thin capping of rich, red terra rossa soil sits directly atop a deep bed of ancient limestone. This distinctive terroir imparts a signature mineral drive and elegant structure to the wine.
