✨ Technical Specifications

The Clos de Malte is a precious seven-hectare monopoly nestled in the sheltered valley of Santenay, at the southern tip of Burgundy's famed Côte de Beaune. Its name whispers of medieval history, harking back to the Knights of Malta who once held sway over these fertile lands. Acquired by Maison Louis Jadot in 1993, this unique climat sits at the foot of the majestic Mont de Sène on a soil structure dominated by limestone and clay marls. This specific terroir coaxes a distinctive character from the Pinot Noir grape, yielding a wine that marries the rustic, structural honesty of Santenay with Jadot's hallmark silkiness. Fermented in open-top fermenters and aged in French oak barrels, the Clos de Malte Rouge reveals deep aromas of dark cherries, damp forest floor, and wild bramble, underpinned by a firm mineral backbone.
