Sourced from ancient Syrah vines planted on the steep, granite-rich slopes of the Les Bessards lieu-dit on the hill of Hermitage, this wine is a masterclass in biodynamic viticulture—a philosophy championed by Michel Chapoutier since the early 1990s. The hill itself is steeped in history, named after the 13th-century crusader knight Gaspard de Stérimberg who built a hermitage here to live in solitary contemplation.
