M. Chapoutier's 'Les Moniers' is a classic expression of Northern Rhône Syrah, typically hailing from the rolling hills of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation. Rooted in the granite-rich soils and alluvial terraces of the region, this wine reflects the Chapoutier family's deep-seated history in Tain-l'Hermitage, dating back to 1808. Crafted from 100% Syrah, it undergoes traditional vinification in concrete or stainless steel vats to preserve the purity of the fruit, followed by careful aging to soften its structure. The wine captures the essence of its terroir with vibrant notes of dark berries, cracked black pepper, violets, and a touch of smoky minerality. Chapoutier's pioneering spirit is woven into every bottle, famously featuring Braille on their labels—a historic tribute to Maurice de la Sizeranne, a blind pioneer from a prominent local Rhône family.

M. Chapoutier blev grundlagt i 1808 i Tain-l'Hermitage i Rhônedalen og har siden udviklet sig til et af Frankrigs mest berømte vinhuse. Husets internationale stjernestatus tog for alvor fart, da Michel Chapoutier overtog roret i 1990 med sin kompromisløse vision. Som pioner inden for biodynamisk vindyrkning og minimal intervention i vinkælderen er ejendommen særligt hyldet for sine enkeltmarks-aftapninger, 'sélections parcellaires', der formidler de fineste terroiregenskaber på tværs af Rhône og andre vinregioner. Chapoutier, der siden 1996 ikonisk har haft punktskrift (blindeskrift) på alle etiketter, skaber referencepunkter for druer som Syrah, Marsanne og Grenache i prestigiøse appellationer som Hermitage, Côte-Rôtie og Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
