Hailing from the steep, sun-drenched hillsides of Piedmont, this Moscato d'Asti DOCG is a classic expression of the ancient Moscato Bianco grape. The 1999 growing season in Piedmont was marked by warm, dry conditions, allowing the grapes to develop rich aromatic complexity and optimal sugar levels. Crafted using the traditional Asti method, the fermentation was arrested early via rapid chilling to preserve the grape's natural sweetness and delicate, low-pressure effervescence. This technique captures the vibrant, fresh notes of orange blossom, ripe peach, and wild sage, grounded by the classic calcareous-clay soils of the region. As a frizzante wine, it represents the historic style of Piedmontese winemakers who crafted these light, sweet wines to refresh themselves after a long day in the vineyards.

Founded in the late 1930s by Giuseppe Manfredi in the Langhe region of Piedmont, Cantine Manfredi began as a humble family endeavor delivering wine by cart to local communities. In the 1960s, Giuseppe's son, Aldo Manfredi, expanded the winery's reach, establishing a modern bottling facility in Farigliano while preserving the family's deep-rooted winemaking traditions. Today, the estate remains family-owned and is highly regarded for its expressive Piedmontese classics, ranging from robust reds to delicate, aromatic sparkling wines. Among their most celebrated offerings is their vibrant Moscato d'Asti, which beautifully showcases the fresh, sweet, and gently effervescent character of the local Moscato Bianco grape.
