Nestled in the heart of the Middle Mosel, the steep, southwest-facing slopes of the Graacher Domprobst vineyard are renowned for their deep, water-retaining blue Devonian slate soils. It is here that visionary winemaker Markus Molitor crafts this extraordinary dry Riesling. Uniquely, Molitor utilizes a color-coded capsule system to guide drinkers through his stylistic spectrum: the white capsule denotes a bone-dry style, an intriguing contrast to the 'Auslese' classification which historically implies sweetness. The two-star (2*) designation signifies an exceptional level of meticulous berry selection. Fermented naturally with wild yeasts in traditional large oak Fuder casks and aged extensively on its fine lees, this wine captures the essence of its historic terroir. It weaves a rich narrative of intense, smoky slate minerality, vibrant citrus, and structured tension, embodying the uncompromising, artisanal spirit of the Mosel's steep-slope viticulture.
