✨ Technical Specifications

Markus Molitor's Kinheimer Hubertuslay Riesling Auslese 3-Star White Capsule represents the pinnacle of dry Mosel Riesling craftsmanship. In Molitor's unique coding, the white capsule denotes a bone-dry style, while the three-star rating signifies the highest tier of selection and concentration from the vineyard. The Kinheimer Hubertuslay vineyard, named after Saint Hubertus, the patron saint of hunters, features steep slopes rich in weathered Devonian slate. This terroir imparts a profound, smoky minerality to the 100% Riesling grapes. Hand-harvested at extreme levels of ripeness, the wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts in traditional large oak casks, remaining on its fine lees for an extended period. The result is a dry Riesling of monumental structure, combining intense physical density, vibrant acidity, and a deep, multi-layered complexity that tells the story of the Mosel's dramatic slate cliffs.

🍾 About the Producer

Founded upon an eighth-generation family viticultural heritage, Weingut Markus Molitor was transformed in 1984 when twenty-year-old Markus Molitor took over the estate at Haus Klosterberg with the dedicated mission of restoring Mosel Riesling to its historic world-class stature. Situated in Bernkastel-Kues in Germany's legendary Mosel region, the winery meticulously cultivates precipitous slate vineyards across renowned grand cru sites such as Zeltinger Sonnenuhr, Wehlener Sonnenuhr, and Erdener Treppchen. Molitor practices low yields, ultra-selective late hand-harvesting, and gentle spontaneous fermentation in ancient, deep vaulted cellars with minimal intervention. The estate is globally celebrated for its site-expressive Rieslings—distinguished by white, green, and gold capsules indicating dry, off-dry, and botrytized sweet styles—as well as remarkably complex, structured Pinot Noir.
