Markus Molitor took the reins of his family winery in 1984 at the young age of twenty, driven by a vision to restore Mosel Riesling to its historical golden era of extreme longevity and terroir expression. The Zeltinger Himmelreich, translating to the 'Kingdom of Heaven,' is a premier steep-slope vineyard in the Middle Mosel characterized by deep, weathered Devonian slate soils. This unique terroir imparts a distinct, vibrant minerality to the 100% Riesling grapes. Molitor's Auslese is crafted with obsessive care, utilizing extremely late, selective hand-harvesting where multiple passes through the vineyard ensure only the finest grapes—often touched by noble rot—are selected. Fermented slowly with ambient yeasts in neutral oak foudres, this white wine beautifully balances luscious stone fruit sweetness with a laser-like, electric acidity that is characteristic of the Mosel's finest steep-slope wines.

Founded upon an eighth-generation family viticultural heritage, Weingut Markus Molitor was transformed in 1984 when twenty-year-old Markus Molitor took over the estate at Haus Klosterberg with the dedicated mission of restoring Mosel Riesling to its historic world-class stature. Situated in Bernkastel-Kues in Germany's legendary Mosel region, the winery meticulously cultivates precipitous slate vineyards across renowned grand cru sites such as Zeltinger Sonnenuhr, Wehlener Sonnenuhr, and Erdener Treppchen. Molitor practices low yields, ultra-selective late hand-harvesting, and gentle spontaneous fermentation in ancient, deep vaulted cellars with minimal intervention. The estate is globally celebrated for its site-expressive Rieslings—distinguished by white, green, and gold capsules indicating dry, off-dry, and botrytized sweet styles—as well as remarkably complex, structured Pinot Noir.
