The Zio Tony Ranch Gianna Marie Syrah is a profound expression of cool-climate Sonoma County Syrah, grown on the rolling hills of the Russian River Valley. The vineyard is named in honor of Uncle ('Zio') Tony Bondanza, a beloved family member who farmed the land for decades, while the 'Gianna Marie' designation pays tribute to the next generation of the Martinelli family. Planted on Goldridge sandy loam soils, the vines benefit from the signature morning fog and warm afternoon sun of the region. This unique microclimate allows the Syrah grapes to ripen slowly, developing intense phenolic complexity, deep color, and signature cracked black pepper and savory characteristics. True to the Martinelli family philosophy, the wine is crafted using traditional, non-interventionist methods, including fermentation with wild yeasts and bottling without fining or filtration, resulting in a remarkably rich, full-bodied, and multi-layered Syrah.
