Masi's Bonacosta is a quintessential representation of Valpolicella Classico, crafted in the historic foothills of the Veneto region. The name Bonacosta refers to the 'good slopes' of the Valpolicella Classico zone, where gentle hillside vineyards benefit from the tempering breezes of nearby Lake Garda and excellent sun exposure. This wine is a traditional blend of indigenous Veronese grapes—primarily Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara. Unlike the rich, dried-grape styles of Amarone for which Masi is also famous, Bonacosta is vinified fresh, capturing the vibrant, immediate fruitiness of the harvest. It undergoes fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel followed by a short aging period in traditional Slavonian oak casks, preserving its bright cherry aromas and soft, accessible structure while honoring centuries of Venetian winemaking heritage.
