Hailing from the historic Conca de Barbera appellation in Catalonia, Milmanda is a legendary single-vineyard Chardonnay that pays homage to Spain's medieval past. The wine takes its name from the Castle of Milmanda, a twelfth-century fortress that once guarded the Christian frontier and was later managed by the Cistercian monks of the nearby Poblet Monastery. The Torres family revived this historic estate, recognizing that its deep clay-limestone soils and cool, elevated microclimate provided the perfect terroir for world-class Chardonnay. Fermented and aged in French oak barrels with regular lees stirring, Milmanda is celebrated for its rich, complex, and elegant profile, seamlessly blending ripe stone fruit and citrus aromas with notes of toasted hazelnut, vanilla, and buttery brioche.
