Familia Torres's Forcada is a remarkable testament to viticultural archaeology. Born from an ambitious, decades-long project to recover ancestral pre-phylloxera grape varieties in Catalonia, Forcada is a rare, indigenous white grape that was rediscovered growing wild near the majestic mountain of Montserrat. This wine is crafted entirely from this recovered variety, grown in the cool, high-altitude clay-limestone soils of the Alt Penedès. To preserve its vibrant, singular character, the wine is typically fermented in stainless steel and aged on its fine lees. It yields an incredibly fresh, aromatic profile defined by notes of citrus, white flowers, and wild herbs, backed by a striking, mineral-driven acidity that makes it uniquely suited to withstand a warming climate.
